Patterned Concrete Installation in Rockwall, TX

What is Patterned Concrete?

Patterned concrete is also known as stamped, imprinted, or textured concrete. As the name suggests, stamped concrete is given color by release agents and color hardeners on concrete. The process is labor-intensive, and timing and other small details have to be done to the tee. Finishing jobs, detailing, and cutting contraction joints completes this novel process.

Usually, we do stamping when the concrete is fresh, but we can also apply the stamped overlay on existing concrete if it’s in good condition.

Design Options

Very few materials offer the versatility that patterned concrete offers in terms of style, texture, color, and patterns. There’s no limit to what you can do with it. Many homeowners choose to echo the surrounding architecture.

With patterned concrete, you can replicate any other paving or building materials. It means that this is a way to imitate stones like slate and fieldstone, bricks, tiles, and wood. And the stamped concrete cost is lower than the ‘real’ material.

Color and Feel

Most of our clients ask us one question: does it look fake? The answer is simple: no. However, it depends on the stamping concrete contractors that you choose. Pros will give you a natural color from earth to gray or the red hue of bricks. We can also include decorative tints, distinct borders, or complementary color patterns.

When it comes to texture, patterned concrete can offer non-slip qualities similar to the original element. You can further add non-slip additives to make the concrete rougher. For instance, when you use stamped concrete in places like pool decks or driveways, you need more traction.
